I thought I would be gone, but plans change. Not always for the best, not always for the worse.

Going to take Madi to the fair tomorrow, so no update tomorrow. Not sure how much commenting I will be doing either.

Got my results back on my biopsy. I have skin cancer. Sucks huh? They want to go ahead and take it out, then plastic surgery. I always wanted a plastic surgeon working on my breast, but really this wasn't what I had envisioned.

But hey, there is always a bright side, and Damian will be home ASAP now.

That does suck - big time. Now I have to go check myself out since this seems to be becoming a trend in the family...And hey, here's a bright side for you. You can see just how good of a plastic surgeon he is, and if you like him then you can go back for the rest! ;o) Or maybe he'll give you a "buy one surgery, get one 1/2 off" deal...

Seriously though, let me know when he schedules it for!

This has been on my mind all day at work and I thought it might encourage you. Some might say, "Oh it's just skin cancer," as though skin cancer were not cancer at all. Of course when you begin to think of it as CANCER it suddenly becomes very scary.

I am going somewhere with this....

My great Aunt Mickey (Mildred) has been prone to skin cancer as long as I can remember. In May I saw her with her nose bandgaed up, yet again. I jokingly asked her if she'd been in a fight.

Aunt Mickey told me she'd just had some more cancer removed from her nose and had to go back for removal of another section next to her nose. I asked Aunt Mickey how this was done.

In an upbeat manner she said, "Oh they just burn it off," as though it were no big deal but I cringed, asking, "Doesn't that hurt?!"

"A little," she said. "It's not as bad as it sounds, really."

Aunt Mickey has always slathered up in sunscreen and never leaves the inside of the house until she's in long sleeves and pants and her gigantic hat. And her nose is almost completely gone (think Michael Jackson almost) and yet it looks so small and cute on her trim face.

Aunt Mickey will be celebrating her 60TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY in November with my uncle. She is always upbeat and happy and her trips to the hospital never seem to get her down.

I know that God will give you the strength to get through this and may healing come quickly and without frustration.

    :o)

You are a natural fighter I can tell. I am sure if cancer knew what was good for him and had done his homework he wouldnt think to even approach you...

Oh, poor cancer, Skittle is going to introduce you to a world of strong will and quality fight back.

Before too long skin cancer will be evacuating the premises... I mean it might be a disease but it aint suicidal, it has basic self preservation insticts:]

Poor cancer... it is already losing the battle, it just doesnt know it yet:]

Take care and my sincere wishes for a speedy recovery!

Oh, how upsetting for you. I hope all goes well and it is just routine. I know this is not much help, but try not to worry. And, no looking on the internet for "information" - it does your head in!!!
